Thanks for popping in for a visit! My name is Dandi, and I’m addicted to coffee, cats, rescuing plants off of greenhouse discount racks, and fine literature. For the past five years, I’ve followed my Marine Corps hubby around the United States, and we’ve had many wonderful adventures. Traveling is one of my biggest passions, and aside from my desire to turn into an elf and move to New Zealand and live among the hobbits, I also want to visit all of America’s national parks. With each move, we somehow collect another furry friend, and right now we share our home with two rescue cats, Guinevere and Viola, and a rescue beagle/blue heeler mix, Atticus. Now that Hubby’s contract has ended, we once again are settling down into our home state of good ol’ Oklahoma.
For the last couple of years, I’ve worked as an Executive Director and Program Administrator for a nonprofit literacy council. Giving back to my community is vitally important to me, and I’ve been blessed to meet so many inspiring, creative, and driven people who motivate me to keep on keepin’ on. Rhetoric, reading, and writing are deep interests of mine, which is why I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English Education. Being able to use my education and experience as a way to work with adults at the literacy council has been a great blessing. Nothing brings more joy than seeing others overcome obstacles like poverty, immigration struggles, domestic abuse, or learning disabilities in order to achieve their education goals and learn to value themselves.
On this blog you will find a hodgepodge of posts: book reviews, vegan recipes, plant care information, travel diaries, and so much more. Hopefully what I share can inspire, motivate, and make your day….just dandy.
